Hi, I'm Dave. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I graduated from the National College of Art & Design in 1997 with first class honours in Design & Visual Communications.
During my degree show I was offered a position as a graphic artist with Riverdeep, an educational software company. My role involved concept, interface and layout design as well as pixel art and animation for products aimed at children from kindergarten to high school.
In 1999 I moved to Softco, where I worked as a concept designer and 2d/3d artist on various projects.
I helped co-found Kapooki Games in 2000 - a game development studio, primarily concentrating on PC games. I was responsible for all levels of the Art department's activities including concept creation and illustration, low-polygon modelling, character rigging, object mapping and texturing, 3d asset and character animation, interface design and 2d asset design.
In March 2006 I took a position with Upstart Games as a pixel artist. As the sole artist I was responsible for all of Upstart's in-house artwork, working with a variety of brands, styles and resolutions.
In February 2008 I joined Dynasigns as a graphic designer. I was responsible for the design of a multitude of graphic design projects from display banners to vehicle graphics.
In September 2009 I started my own freelance business. I primarily work for the Institute of Banking creating a range of content such as video editing and production, animation, print material, interactive content and user interfaces.
I have a fascination for all aspects of design. I am an avid player of all types of games, and I have a keen interest in mythology. I travel as often as I can, and read as much as possible. I love the outdoors and getting out into the wilds.
